I am an “anthropological artist” digging and sifting through images, works, news and sounds to fill my need to understand the world with an open mind and spirit. I search for connections and unity, peace and understanding. I am repelled by repressive aspects of societies that strive to undermine individuality.

My two series: paintings and painted sculptures, use disparate elements, unusual juxtapositions and strong color to create a constant parade of activity, and heighten one’s awareness of connectedness. My own way of saying it is, “all roads lead somewhere”. As one reviewer put it: “this is associative thinking that adds up to suggested metaphors, open to interpretation.

It has always been important to me, as a feminist, to create strong, architecturally designed work, painted and cut carefully, with complete concentration focused on grace, luminosity, and color, and making sure not to eliminate my feminine accents.
